Sibling Rivalry

I was praying about sibling rivalry and asking the Lord why he allows it and the Lord gave me the following word.

Jeana, I allow sibling rivalry because it is my intention for the marriage relationship to be the strongest human bond on earth. Marriage is designed to last the entire adult like span and is supposed to be the main support, and fellowship for people. When a young couple is first married their parental and sibling relationships are usually the strongest and most long standing relationships they have. The parents are usually wise enough to give the young couple space and the parents are to nurture the new union, that leaves the siblings who are usually young and inexperienced themselves. When conflict of difficulties arise the young spouses are in the habit of going to their siblings for support. If this were allowed it would undermine the new marriage. That is why I have allowed sibling rivalry to allow the young couple to learn to rely on one another and not upon their siblings for support. If you watch carefully, after several years, sibling rivalry wanes and the old long standing relationship is often renewed, but not before the marriage has had time to grow deep and strong. True, people take sibling rivalry to extremes and it can become ugly and very painful, but I have allowed it because it causes deep marital bonds to form.
