I don't remember ever dreaming I was someone other than myself and the other day I had two dreams back to back where I was someone else.

First I was a young teen age girl who lived with about 3 or 4 older men who were my guardians (grandfather figures, but weren't my grandfathers??). They were somewhat grumpy especially one in particular who even snapped at me, but I had so much love for them that it didn't bother me and I brushed it off and just gave him loving words in return for his snippy attitude.

The next dream I had I was a young man and I had just gotten out of the shower. I had a towel wrapped around my waist and as I was looking in the mirror when my face (in the cheek and nose area) started to turn almost black. I knew it was demonic and started to get scared and opened the bathroom door to look out and see if anyone was in the house to help me. I didn't see anyone and then realized I didn't need anyone else and shut the door and I started speaking in tongues and commanding it to leave. The darkness on my face was fading in and out as I was speaking. It was like a fight where the demon was not leaving easily.

I could use some help discerning what these dreams mean. The fact that I am someone else is throwing me off. Ever since I was a little girl I have always had a strong interest in divine healing, but I find it interesting that I seem to have so many dreams of casting out demons instead of seeing people get healed.

Very interesting, Wendy. A friend of mine had a dream recently where he was the guy from Quantum Leap and was jumping into other people's bodies! Had some warfare elements in it as well. I'm sorry I'm not more help. I'm wondering if this is a new thing God is doing...hmmm.
Don't worry about not being more help. It's always interesting to hear similarities that are going on. Let me know if you hear of any others. I just thought it was odd.
Hi Wendy,
Wow! This is different from dreams I've had or heard about from others, and I felt a "Yeah, God!" excitement stir in my spirit as I read them. Valuable teaching through these dreams :) Praise God!
I guess they are valuable teachings. I wasn't really looking at them like that. I was more concentrating on and wondering why I wasn't me.
Hi Wendy, could it possibly be that God is saying just be yourself.? a gentle question you do not have to answer if you do not want to..have you ever compared your self to any one else and want to be like that..do you know someone in a deliverance ministry that you admire and wish you could be like that? I love your heart of compassion for the sick and wounded and that you want to see people healed..this is the heart God has given you concentrate on that..could these dreams just be a distraction..Sincerely, Lonnie
Your questions are great Lonnie and making me think.... However, I don't know anyone who does deliverance or that is in a deliverance ministry. In fact, it wasn't until I started having these kinds of dreams where I am casting out demons that I even concidered it. I do believe they are teachings. They have helped both me and my family. Originally as I was responding to your questions, I wrote about a situation where my son had the opportunity to cast one out of his room. Just as I finished typing, I accidentally clicked on one of the advertised books on this side and lost my whole response. :( So, to simplify my response so that I don't have to write it all over again...

I don't believe he would have known what to do in that situation had I not told him about a deam I had of commanding demons to leave a haunted house that I was babysitting in. In the dream, there were many of them and they all were giving me dirty looks as I repeatedly said "In the name of Jesus" because they HAD to go.

I'm wondering if the reason I am someone else is maybe because I'm not doing those things such as returning kindness for bad attitudes and casting out evil (or at least not enough.) Maybe there is not enough of me in those righteous acts for me to see myself doing those things??? I'm still not really sure.
Wow, Wendy, this truly must be a teaching dream!! I think communion with god would have some great teaching material on the subject of deliverance...I love how the Holy Spirit is our teacher...listen to Him ..be blessed in all that you do..
Shalom, Lonnie
Hi Wendy: Blessings to you. Open your spirit ears for this. In reading these dreams and comments lately, people mention the enemy, demons and warfare..
There is a lot that goes on in our sub-conciousness. Sometimes a dream is just that-just a dream. Those cluttered
up thoughts and surreal things our brain does, that only God understands. Just wake up and praise the Lord and have
a great day in the spirit of God. Not every thing that transpires in our Christian lives is either God or satan.
We have minds of our own and a free will, that God gave us - not satan. I'm convinced that at least half of our battles are
with our own flesh and mind and, we are under no condemnation or penalty for it.
If someone is thinking demons and warfare, that's probably what they'll get. Our spiritual maturity and concept of
good or evil, will determine how we respond to issues of life. What follows warfare? Peace and rebuilding.
What causes warfare? Disagreements and discord, pride and greed. Another big cause is this: Lies. People believe
them and respond to them in fear or defense and the fight begins. I spent fifteen years studying martial arts, just waiting
for the day when some thug or thugs would come after me and it never arrived. I spent another sum of years thinking
the demons are after me and yelling at them, some defensive quote that they already know: They are bound by the
Blood of Jesus and the Word of God. They have no authority over me, only the power to lie and deceive.
I refuse to do battle with someone or something that refuses to show itself, and when they do, I'll tell them, It's not my
battle-the battle is the Lord's. What would the enemy do if he walked up to you and said: I'm going to kill you; and you
said: You can't-I'm already dead; or No one takes my life-I give it freely; or what are you going to do-send me to Heaven?
That's not your job. Is anyone out there getting this-are you having fun yet? I know this is wordy and I really could go on and on about our defenses. satan is our helper, our fertilizer, so to speak. But he doesn't get it. He causes us to draw
near to God. For your discretion: He is doing exactly what God wants him to do. To cause us to pray against the evil and sorrowful things in this world and express the goodness of God.
You'll have to check your journals for this, but whenever you slip or sin and whether you attribute it to satan or to your
own flesh-. The very next day, you are forgiven and experience the mercy of God on you, through your confession
and repentance. So, in a more direct response to your question. I'm really seeing that if you see yourself in a dream, as someone else-that's not who you really are. In your conscious life, your are most likely not being who you are, and the people in your dream are symbolic of what you are assuming you could be, or what a false spirit is trying to project on to you. Which is a lie.
I'm believing for dreams of peace and healing and whatever your heart desires. Bless you and yours, Mark
Hi Wendy, I wish to make few comments on your dreams which probably could help in their interpretation. First of all do not be thrown off that you are someone else, because the dreams reflect various hidden aspects of your inner self and nobody else. Mathew 18:3 says "unless you are converted and becsome like little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven". How do we become converted? By renewing of the mind that we become simple, humble and willing to be the least of all. You were a teenager in the dream but this is the closest explanation I could come to.
Regarding the second dream, the young man may be symbolic of masculine traits in you. Let me explain: Every person has both masculine and feminine traits because God has both traits and we are created in His image (Gen 1:27). Showering is symbolic of cleansing, sanctification, repentance, temptation. So, it could be that the masculine traits in you are under spiritual attack but you are capable of handling the situation. Lastly, regarding your interest in divine healing, I wish to point out that divine healing and deliverance are not mutually exclusive. About 40 per cent of the healing done by Jesus Christ involved casting out demons. Therefore, do not be disturbed by your dreams of casting out demons. Dreams often have relevance to things happening in our lives and therefore, I would appreciate it if you would let me know whether my overall comments are helpful or not. God bless.
Hi Felix,
Very Good and helpful comments. Even your referenced verses are on point. Right now I am in a Bible study focusing on Romans 12 and renewing our minds and surrendering all that we are to God. Also we were just speaking of how closely deliverance and healing are related. Thank you so much for your insight. I appreciate it.
Hi Wendy, I have been away from the network for a while. I have today read your reply of 25 Jan to my comment and I am grateful. Thank you for telling your story, which has helped me to understand the symbols in the dream. For example, the shower is the symbol of cleansing resulting from God lifting of the heaviness after you wrote off your cousin’s debt. The part of the face which you saw in the mirror turning black is symbolic of the bitterness remaining in your heart which has become or could become the foothold of demons. The masculine trait which you lacked or did not exercise was the authority to say NO. What you need, of course, is inner healing of the wounds in your heart and I am glad you have very good counsel from Lady-Mary which you are following. I wish to give you some encouragement. Those who hurt us most are those near to us, particularly relatives. However, you must understand that even our Lord Jesus Christ experienced ungratefulness. Didn’t He heal 10 lepers and only one returned to glorify God? (Luke 17:12-17). On the cross He said to His Father to forgive those who were crucifying Him, because they did not know what they do (Luke 23:34). Furthermore, you know the story of Stephen (Acts 7:54-60). When he was being stoned, he asked God not to count the sin against the perpetrators. Saul was present amongst them. But Stephen released Saul and the evil men, by asking God to forgive them. Saul later turned out to be Paul, who the Lord mightily used for spreading the gospel amongst the Gentiles. Besides he wrote 2/3 of the New Testament. Just ask yourself, what your cousin and anyone else did to you, how do they compare with what the Lord suffered and what happened to Stephen. Yet the Lord Jesus and Stephen asked for forgiveness for those murderers. From your dream, it is evident to me that you can handle the situation positively. Jesus is your strength and you must lean on Him through the healing process. Totally forgive and release your cousin and anyone else who have hurt you and the Lord Jesus Christ will heal you spirit, soul and body. In His love. God bless you. Felix
Hi Felix,
Glad to have you back here. I loved how you explained the shower dream. I also find it helpful to see Jesus' example of forgiving those who were attacking Him. I always think about that when I have the slightest problem with forgiveness. So when I'm still having trouble forgiving after looking at that scene, I get frustrated with myself. But I need to remember too, that forgiving others is very much for ourselves as well. God says He forgives us for His own sake. If we don't let go of that it eats us up on the inside, most likely doing more damage to the one who is not forgiving then the one who is not forgiven. As of now, there has been more that has happened between my cousin and I. I can say at this point (thanks to God) that I have no bitterness from the money that was never returned. However, another situation arose about a week ago, where she took things that I said to her WAY out of context and turned them around to be mean words and she started publicly disgracing me on Facebook. Then her mom started to be very hurtful towards me too, started calling family members and telling them bad stuff about me that wasn't true. The lesson the Lord taught me through this trial was to just keep my focus on Him and respond in love. I noticed something different in the way I felt about them when I kept my focus on Jesus. I had genuine compassion for them even though they were purposely trying to hurt me. This time I could really see why she acts the way she acts. She is a very insecure person who thinks everyone is out to get her, and I felt bad for her. I let them both know that I love them very much and shortly after that I got an apology email from my aunt. My cousin agreed to have an adult conversation with me. I just pray that the Lord will keep her mind right as she listens to what I say and know that what I have to say to her is not meant to hurt her in any way. Thanks to everyone for the advice and insight.
