Permalink Reply by Mary Ann E on April 7, 2011 at 6:32pm that's what thing I hate about fear ...when I have gotten afraid or anxious about something while I study the word,or trying to understand what it means to be justified by faith, it makes it harder to see clearly, to think clearly..straight,etc..
an maybe another not I was told by Jesus to "patiently think" thinking fast i s not good when comes to meditating ,
Isaiah 28:16 KJV
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
(I put the bold for emphasis)

Sometimes calling attention first to the Lord and then to your body can help. I always take care to be sure I'm breathing deeply. Believe it or not, sometimes something cold to drink has helped.
I'm sure you've heard lots of suggestions, and probably most of them have been good. Perhaps there have been a few that haven't. A lot of times we need to take these suggestions and put them together in a way that fits us personally, as everybody is different. A verse that has brought a great deal of comfort to me has been in James 1:5&6 where we are told that God will give us the wisdom we need. Those verses have helped me a lot.
And God will give it to you ina way that fits you personally.
