Seek My will,                                             Find My grace.                                         Lift your eyes up to the hill,                                   Find My face.        …Continue

Looking forward to Heaven

The coolest thing happened in  church this past Sunday. Remember in the Bible where Jesus says we need to watch for His return? Well in the service, I actually felt as if the rapture was fixing to happen. I know Jesus said it would be at an hour when we are Not expecting him, but it made me feel excited about going to heaven an seeing Jesus. I realized that that is how Christians are supposed to feel. We are to keep our eyes fixed on our prize, which is an eternity with our beloved Savior. Even…See More

Verse of the day

"But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble." - Psalm 59:16 I sing to the Lord every morning as I drive to work or drive anywhere else. You do not have to be a singer to sing God's praises. Sing to the Lord, because He is worthy to be praised.

"Hi Amanda! I would definitely think chills would be your spirit receiving something exciting from the Holy Spirit.  A lot of churches that let the gifts of the Spirit flow have laughter, tears, etc, so why not chills?? That's AWESOME!!"

Profile Information

A little bit About Myself, and Why I'm Here
For the first few years of my life believed in God and his Son Jesus. I asked Jesus into my heart when I was eight, but I never completely surrendered my life to him. As I got older my faith began to fade. By my senior year I had begun to resent God, because of all the times things have not gone my way. A few months ago my parents realized that I was not right with God. They helped me turn back to him. Now I don't pray selfish prayers. I pray prayers full of worship, or at least I try to. I now look forward to the day when I see Jesus face to face. I wanted to be a hollywood actress a few months ago. Now I want to go into the ministry, but if God has something else in store for me, I am open to options.

Hi Amanda!

Hi Amanda! And welcome to Koinonia!

About your profile information first, I think it's so awesome that you're learning to pray unselfishly and full of worship. God knows that we make mistakes sometimes, but He loves it when our hearts are in the right place!!

And you should keep praying about what you want to do. There are people who are powerfully used "in the world" but are using their gifts as a ministry. Have you heard of the movie "The Ultimate Gift"? That's written by someone from CLU (the online university associated with Communion with God). It all depends on going into it with God's heart instead of by the drive to be rich/famous/the best _______ . Those can certainly come, but they shouldn't be our drive. It sounds like you want to be seeking God's heart, but not necessarily that you feel called into "the ministry" as it's typically seen. That's awesome! That means maybe God wants to use your talents in HIS way!!

And absolutely feel free to share Bible verses that are on your heart! Even better would be if you wrote about why you chose them, or what God's showing you in them. You can start them as "blog posts," by clicking on "blogs" on the top bar and then the "+add" button on the top right. That way more people will see it and be blessed by it! They can comment, too, so if you had something you wanted feedback on, you could add questions to your post. People can't really comment when you write on your wall like you did.

Have you read any of Mark's books on hearing God's voice? I highly recommend jumping right in! You sound like your heart is really longing for that!! :)

There is something I need to say. I have been really trying to get as close to God as I can. I have been trying to use facebook to minister by posting bible verses. I have not worked my way up to hearing his voice yet or seeing his visions. I just thought I could post bible verses on my blog on this sight too, as well as share how God is working in my life. I thought I could share with people how God's hand has always been in my life, even before I was born. I can go into that later. You guys can delete me from this website. I just really wanted to start trying to be one of God's ministers. I hope you will let me try, if you don't think I am ready I understand. I have really been praying that God will help me listen to and hear his voice.

Searching for God's will, finding God's grace

My parents really wanted me to get a job this summer. They wanted me to get used to having a job. I went to this job interview for Playhouse on the square. It sounded like the perfect job for me, helping out with kids who love theater. They have this camp for kids at playhouse. I was applying to be an assistant. I was given one night to discuss it with my parents and think about it. After I told my parents about it they decided that I could just relax the whole summer. I really wanted to have a… Continue

Verse of the day

"For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows." - 2 Corinthians 1:5 It is such a tragedy to know that Jesus came from his throne to suffer like every other human being. He suffered rejection as well as the consequences for OUR sins. How truly amazing it is that he took all our guilt upon himself so that we can be comforted when we do not even deserve to be comforted. Thank you Jesus.
