Gaining a place to speak to the world about the things of God is starting to become clear. My prayer now is to be able to represent or to be an ambassador of God into places where previously I may have felt to be impossible. Personally, there are…

The Organization of the Lack of Religion

The last couple of days, I keep having this picture in my heart or daydream of declaring to those who have scoffed at God and His church in the past. In it, the argument of not wanting to believe in God because of what has been seen by them as hypocrisy within religion is compared with the righteousness of Jesus Christ Himself. He Himself who laid down His life for His church. The complaint against organized religion is shown to be a thinly veiled excuse for rejecting God.The unbelief of…See More

Removes our reproach. Interesting, I awoke this morning with God re-speaking to me about Him doing something that He has whispered into my heart before. It has stretched my faith. My response has been "God, can you really do that?" Great…

Can we post more than one discussion thread on Our Story? One area that may be a blessing for some of you is in contending for the faith. There is an area of my life that is an issue or thorn, if you will. While reading a book called The Thorn in the Flesh by Dr. R.T. Kendall, I learned that Paul may not have specifically told us what it was in order to allow us to be able to relate with what God was saying in a more personal way. Dr. Kendall writes that he believes that if Paul had shared…See More

Those are some powerful verses. I've always been unclear as to the rider on the white horse. You may know Scripture better than me. Is that Jesus or someone else? Either way I'm blessed by the level of anointing and revelation that comes…

A little bit About Myself, and Why I'm Here
I'm new to Communion with God Ministries and CLU. After nearly 20 years within pentecostal/charismatic circles I have learned mostly by trial and error and am currently asking God about pursuing further training for life and ministry through college/university. I feel like I have a Doctorate in the Spirit. I'm seeking to clarify and expand on my walk with God through adding to my spiritual walk by pursuing a more formal education.

My interests include: music, evangelism, preparation through persecution from inside and outside of the church for righteousness sake, and the biblical qualifications of ministry. It appears as though the advancement of the kingdom of God on earth requires greater challenges than just remaining inside the safety of the local church. Denominationalism and legalism used to be two of the biggest issues that we had to face, but being a church that the gates of hell won't prevail against goes much further and deeper. Opposition from the worldly system and apathy from within the religious system goes far beyond being told that we can't drink, can't smoke and can't think girls are pretty! Issues over whether or not we can wear blue jeans or have long hair and listen to loud music pale by comparison to the lifestyle of the early church detailed in the book of Acts. They faced religious opposition and worldy corruption too, but it cost them their lives not just their personal preferences.

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me[a] in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:4-8)

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Rev 12:11)

A small commentary on Acts 1:8 translated the word witness as martyr.

dictionary.com defines martyr as:

–noun 1. a person who willingly suffers death rather than renounce his or her religion.
2. a person who is put to death or endures great suffering on behalf of any belief, principle, or cause: a martyr to the cause of social justice.

Going Beyond What Is Expected

Since I don't have an great understanding of the the law and grace, I'll try not to get outside my understanding. I don't know about you but there has been a war in my life with going beyond what is expected for sometime now. It has to do with repentance and transformation. Everytime I go to God with an issue in my walk with God be it timidity, issues with authority, being more responsible, or the more recent health issues that I have been struggling through, the results always outweight the… Continue

1st Blog

Well blogs are a good way to get to know people, so I'll give it a shot...Most of my background with being a Spirit-Empowered Believer has been in the charismatic/pentecostal movements as I was saying in my profile. Over the years I have experienced the prophetic/renewal/apostolic/and 24-7 worship and prayer movements as well. Right now I'm not sure what I would consider myself to be apart of in terms of a movement. I have also done some research regarding the house church movement, but my… Continue

He is an amazing teacher who studies greek words...he has many books published, my favorite is Sparkling Gems which is a devotional and contains word studies from the Greek...his teachings has saved me hours of research and has enriched my own teaching and preaching times! Just a thought! What church do you attend now?

HI Todd,

yes CLU has been amazing! I started out thinking i'll take one course here and there, however as it turned out the Lord was in it and now i'm one course away from my receiving a Masters degree...it has been life changing not to mention the doors that have opened to me!

Mark Virkler (President of CLU) does much teaching at Toronto Airport church in Toronto, perhaps you've heard him?

Blessings to you!
