Chat Sessions--Want To Help?

I want to share something that happened on chat recently:

A new member came to our Chat. I noticed there were three older members there also. The new member didnt realize that, in order to start a chat with someone, she had to click on someone's name in order to talk with them. She was asking if anybody was there and thought we were all in a personal meeting, so she left.

In the future, when I come to Koinonia and have time to chat, I am going to say in Chat, “I am here to talk or pray if you need someone. Just click on my name to reach me”.

I don't want to miss an opportunity to show Jesus to others.

I have also chosen the chime option to sound off when someone clicks on my name.

I hope you will be willing to do this too.

Comment by lewisky1 on July 20, 2010 at 10:04am: Thanks Joy because I too came in to the chat room and it being my first time felt somewhat left out when I tried to reach out to the general crowd and no one responded. Then I clicked on someone's name and they seemed to ignore me so I left the room thinking that they were too busy for me. So this is encouragement to me to know that you felt the urge to be hospitable to newcomers especially since we can feel like outcasts at first.
