Satan's Thoughts Versus God's Thoughts

Satan’s Thoughts: Spontaneous Thoughts Which Are Negative and Destructive (i.e. line up with the names of satan: Accuser, Father of Lies, Thief, Adversary)
God’s Thoughts: Spontaneous Thoughts Which Are Positive and Upbuilding (i.e. line up with the names of the Holy Spirit: Comforter, Counselor, The Spirit of Truth, The Convincer, The Exhorter/Teacher)
Your Thoughts: Analytical Thoughts (i.e. connected, you construct them yourself; they are not spontaneous)

(My recommendation is to go for God's thoughts!)

Satan Says        God Says

I can’t... I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me (Phil. 4:13).
I lack... My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19).
I fear... God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind (II Tim. 1:7).
I don’t have faith... God has given to me a measure of faith (Rom. 12:3).
I’m weak... The Lord is the strength of my life (Ps. 27:1).
Satan has really got me... Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (I Jn. 4:4).
I’m defeated... God always causes me to triumph in Christ Jesus (II Cor. 2:14).
I don’t know what to do... Christ Jesus is made unto me wisdom from God (I Cor. 1:30).
I expect to get sick once in a while... By His stripes I am healed (Is. 53:5). Jesus Himself took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses (Matt. 8:17).
I am so worried and frustrated... I can cast all my cares upon Him, because He cares for me (I Pet. 5:7).
I’m in bondage... Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (II Cor. 3:17).
I feel so condemned... There is no condemnation to me, because I am in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1).

wow...isn't the battle usually in our minds? the enemy is so good at planting negative 'seeds' in our thoughts. it takes a conscious effort to cast those out and allow GOD room to bring His thoughts. if we allow the lies of the enemy to remain they will take root. then we have a mess! thanks, Mark, for the insight!

Thanks Mark. The key difference between thoughts from self and God is that one is analytical and the other is spontaneous. How good is that. How good it is to wait on God for His thoughts rather then spend hours analysing and going around in circles! Circles of despair and digging one deeper into a rut!. Spontaneous God empowered thought is the way to go. We can do this by faith trusting God to come through every time. God is good. Praying for your trip to India.

Amen! How many times we see these same scriptures through life. But it's not until we make these scriptures positive and personal by faith that we can see, believe, and know... Thank you Holy Spirit for your truth! Thank you LORD for all your benefits! Sorry I can't get the book right now.

David,
I believe spontaneous thoughts that line up with the names of satan come from satan, and spontaneous thoughts that line up with the names of the Holy Spirit come from the Holy Spirit, and analytical thoughts come from self.
